αrs lex is available as a cloud service or on-premises software. Your privacy protections depend on which deployment you use.

Cloud (arslex.ai)
We host the service on Amazon Web Services' S3. Your documents never leave your Document Management System (DMS).
On-Premises
You host the service on your private, air-gapped AI and DMS. Your data never leaves the four walls of your law firm, just like the old days.
Data collection
Cloud
Documents: PDFs and Word files stay on your Document Management System and are temporarily used for AI-powered features, then automatically deleted.
Account info: Name, email, and organization when you sign in.
Usage data: We do not use your data for any purpose except to identify bugs and improve features and services.
On-Premises
Documents: Stored on your servers. We have no access.
Account info: Managed by your organization. We have no access.
Usage data: Stays on your infrastructure. We have no access.
Data storage & security
Cloud
Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Your data is isolated from others'—it is never accessible to other users.
On-Premises
Data is stored on your own servers, subject to your security policies. αrs lex does not have access to your deployment.
Third-party services
Cloud
We use a curated set of AI providers to power search and drafting. Document excerpts are processed but not used to train models. We use Microsoft for authentication.
On-Premises
You deploy your private, custom AI on infrastructure you own on your firm's intranet, disconnected from the internet.
Retention & deletion
Cloud
We only use your data temporarily for specific AI-powered features. Your data is deleted immediately once an AI call is completed. Any caching (temporary saves) takes place exclusively on your firm's DMS.
On-Premises
Your organization controls retention and deletion according to your own policies.
Your rights
For cloud users: You may access, correct, delete, or export your data by contacting admin@arslex.ai.
For on-premises users: Contact your organization's administrator.
